Well I am still working on the top of my socks, and I am wondering about an effective cast off (bind off). Will I be able to do it properly? Will I have enough stretch in the calf? Then there will be the afterthought heel as Christopher Archie calls it. I lose confidence all of a sudden just thinking about it. I can't wait for when I have some free time from my Landmark Education activities to get back to some knitting. So much for Michelle Obama talking about the Glass Ceiling. I would suggest she give up that hope for the next 25 years, and then maybe it might get shattered (or not). It takes two hands to clap.

I'm Still On My Soapbox People
I am disappointed that the democratic process was so positioned and manouvered by the "Presidential (The People Won't Elect Me)Wannabees", that they made it their business to not get ruled by a woman. Make no mistake people; the Glass Ceiling would have been permanently shattered. And now it may be another 25 years. I AM a feminist in the purest sense of the word. I believe that women can make the most difference and they are stronger in character than most man have ever been. I still believe that Obama is not yet ready, just like George W was not ready. Who is really going to be making the decisions? I wanted to vote for him in the next elections, and now I don't know. I as a resident alien has yet to do my citizenship, and when it is done, who will be the choices then? I may choose to register as an Independent.

America's Judgement in Voting
Michael Johns. What's the matter with you America? You have a history of disregarding real talent when it hits you upside the head and then you get up and keep walking as if it never happened. It took a British Invasion to bring to the fore the black artists that influenced their music. American black artists! And you call Elvis Presley the king.
I am not even an American Idol junkie, (I hardly watch the show) but I managed to watch the first two shows that showcased the prospective artists, and One talent jumped out at me from the whole bunch. That talent was Michael Johns! I said to my husband "That's a Rock Star! He has the most natural talent in the whole bunch." And then you had to go and show me how clueless and dumb you can be America. The same America that made Taylor Hicks an idol. What has become of him by the way? Oh yes, of course! You actually have to have REAL talent to survive and be remembered in the music industry. Does anybody talk about him anymore. I didn't think so. Chris Daughtry was supposed to be the Idol for that season because HE has the talent.
Stop wallowing in dumbness America. You have had periods of greatness in your history. Don't make those periods few and far between. You're better than that.

One Person Always Starts the Ball Rolling
This is my first day, and my first blog.
I saw something today on PBS 13 and it blew me away.
I always thought that Bob Dylan was the person who wrote the songs that makes me want to slap politicians, but it was an amazing man named Pete Seeger. At 85 he is still writing songs. He wrote songs for children, and songs of social commentary for the masses. He wrote and sang the songs that started the movement that is alive and well this very day. He made a difference, and each one of us can make a difference. He wrote the songs that got politicians mad because it started the grassroots movement that stopped the Vietnam War and reminded people that politicians have only the power we give them. He got the Hudson River cleaned up, after the politicians gave it away to the Industrialists to destroy. Wow!
Yes, one person DID make a difference, and is still doing so today.
That's why I believe the future is in our hands, not in the politicians hands.
Go out there people and smile at your fellow humans, because you just might get a smile in return and make somebody's day brighter, including your own.
No politician can bring change, only you can, one pereson at a time.
